What we do
The Extractives and Development sector programme supports government institutions in developing countries to establish their extractive sector to benefit sustainable development in the countries on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It employs proven approaches but also develops new approaches and tests them in practice. In addition, Extractives and Development advises the BMZ on technical and strategic issues facing German development cooperation in the extractive sector and backs up development processes on behalf of BMZ.
