The Responsible Gold Forum was once again represented at Europe's leading jewelry and watch trade fair
Last weekend, 20-23 February 2026, Europe's leading jewelry and watch trade fair, ‘Inhorgenta’, took place in Munich – with the Responsible Gold Forum participating for the third time. As an exhibitor in the Sustainability Area, the Forum had the opportunity to inform numerous interested guests about the risks involved in gold mining and advise them on approaches for sourcing gold responsibly. In particular, raising awareness of the existing risks associated with the use of so-called recycled gold was once again a prominent topic.
A highlight was the joint presence of the Fairmined and Fairtrade certification initiatives, which had a joint appearance for the first time at the stand last year. The proximity to the stand of Fairever, Germany's most important dealer in responsible gold and also an active member of the Responsible Gold Forum, was also a great added value. A further member, a representative of the jewelry brand Quite Quiet, was also able to share his practical experiences with the use of certified gold from a business perspective. We thank everyone involved for a smooth and successful trade fair appearance!
The Responsible Gold Forum is coordinated by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
