5th Workshop "Responsible Gold in Germany"

Workshop participants discuss responsible gold

15.03.2021 |

The 5th workshop of the event series "Responsible Gold in Germany" will take place on May 5, from 1-4 p.m. The event is held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since 2018, the Sector Programme (SP) "Extractives and Development" of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) has organized the workshop series on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The event facilitates the exchange of information and experiences between business, civil society, academia and development cooperation on the topic of responsible gold.

The upcoming fifth workshop, will host several exciting presentations: the Frankfurt Zoological Society will present its perspective on gold production in the Amazon and a BGR employee who recently returned from the Democratic Republic of Congo will report on his project work in gold mining. In addition, a project on the development of teaching materials on responsible gold will be presented.

Registration to participate in the event is possible until April 30. The workshop will be held in German language.

For more information and to register, please contact: Dr. Nataly Jürges.
